Some Sound Reasons For Testing The Safety Of Your Floor Surfaces

It is a pretty well-known fact that in today’s society there are hundreds, if not thousands, of ambulance-chasing lawyers. They are, to the last man and woman, only too delighted to provide their services to people who have suffered injury on a “no win, no fee” basis.

Why do you suppose that is? It’s because they know full well that in most cases, they are going to win the case, collect a shed load of damages for their client, and then collect 25% of it for themselves. Why wouldn’t they?

The problem is that, as a business owner, when they prove to the court that you are at fault, it is going to be you, or your insurance company, that provides the shed load of damages. Either way, it is going to cost you a lot of money because even if you are covered on your insurance your next premium is going to go through the roof – that is if your insurance company will continue to insure you.

One of the biggest dangers is slips, trips, and falls on floors which are unsafe. They account for 40% of all serious injuries in the workplace, and, unfortunately, it is no good pleading to the court that you didn’t know your floors were unsafe. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires you to keep people as safe as possible.

Fortunately, at 4Earth Solutions we do have a solution! We can use a special piece of equipment and carry out what is known as a Pendulum Test. The results of this are accepted by British courts. The magic figure is 36 and if your floor scores over this, it is safe.

If it doesn’t pass the test, we still have a solution because we can apply a non-slip floor coating to your floor to bring it well above 36. It is far better to have us test your floor and, if necessary, apply an anti-slip floor treatment BEFORE someone has an accident, rather than have us test your floor on behalf of some ambulance-chasing lawyer afterwards!
